Brett and I met while I was touring with the organization Invisible Children, my team and I presented at University High School in Indianapolis, IN where she is a teacher. Her passion to educate and provide a new perspective of the world to the young people in America is B-E-A-UTIFUL. Beyond her passion as an educator, Brett helped start The Ribe Project (pronounced, Ree Bay). With a focus on women, "The Ribe Project strives to inspire, educate and empower people in northern Uganda by focusing on community unity and development." Their goal is to, "...provide sustained academic and vocational education, primarily to young mothers, allowing them to reach their untapped potential and incite economic growth by becoming the next entrepreneurs, innovators, and leaders of Uganda." She is also the creator of Tender Wild; retreats for people who are intentional about finding their heart, telling their story, and being in community with other learners. On this show we talked a lot about Bethany’s life growing up in Alaska, Tanzania, and Kenya. We also touched on our time at IC, as well as dealing with death and suicide.
